formats and resolutions explained:
DPI: 300 DPI is fine for most photo scanning orders, but if you want a true archival quality image or plan on printing at sizes larger than the original then 600 DPI resolution option is for you. You’ll get 4 times the amount of data.
JPEG vs TIFF: TIFF files are lossless (no compression). They are larger in size but will not lose any quality or clarity when edited and saved repeatedly. JPEGs, on the other hand, have compression and will lose a small amount of quality and clarity each time they are saved. However they are smaller in file size making them easier to share with friends and family.
